Are sponsored post worth more than banner ads?

Answer by Greg Longmuir:

This depends on a few things, by “top wide” do you mean header?

1. Target, demo, market etc.
2. What are you advertising? what is the end result you are looking for?
3. Are you looking for buzz, conversions or an ROI?
Typically display or “banner” ads can be set to a certain target demo or market, there are many levels of CPM and millions of sites to choose. Depending on the reach and frequency you want to achieve you may want to try “contextual” targeting explained here, Contextual targeting – Google Display Network which is a good place to start. If you are looking for “shares” and re postings etc. then BuzzFeed is your way. Can you give a bit more info?  Greg
